Starbucks is switching up its ice game. The coffee giant is gradually transitioning to using round, pellet-like nugget ice for cold beverages from the rectangular ice chunks currently used.
Starbucks has confirmed the change in a statement that said, “As we continue to innovate and make investments in the Starbucks Experience for our partners (baristas) and customers, we are introducing new machines that make nugget ice to select stores this year. Like many of our recent investments, this machine allows partners to focus on delivering the Starbucks Experience while hand-crafting the same delicious, high-quality iced beverages our customers have come to expect from Starbucks.”
According to Brit.com the biggest complaint is the speed that the ice melts. People do not want to water down their coffee so fast. I personally love that kind of ice. Plus it will probably be easy on your teet if you are an ice chewer.
