I like big bass and I cannot lie. Is there anything more thrilling as a fresh water angler, than casting your line and wham! A huge large mouth bass takes it and runs. The biggest striped bass ever caught in North Carolina came out of the Hiwassee Reservoir caught in the southwest corner of North Carolina. That body of water created by a dam. This 66 pounder was caught by Tyler Shields who reportedly used a black trick worm back in 2012.
Now, let’s get to my real wheel house. I love to fish for catfish. They can get massive. Right now the record holder is 127 pounds. Rocky Baker caught this bad boy on the Roanoke River back in July 2021 according to A-Z Animals.
