Last Minute U-Turn Leads This North Carolina Woman To A $200,000 Lottery Win
I am a big believer in listening to that little voice inside that tugs at you sometimes. More often than not, I am glad when I listen. And, many times, I end up regretting it when I don’t. Well, that scenario played out recently for a North Carolina woman. A last minute u-turn lead the North Carolina grandma to a $200,00 lottery win.
So, here’s what happened. According to WBTV, Trina Cotton typically has a habit of going to the same store to buy her lottery tickets on a regular basis. But, Friday night after getting her nails done she took off on her way home. But, then she remembered that she neglected to pick up a her usual scratch-off lottery ticket.
And, even though she spotted a store across from where she was, that just wouldn’t do. So, Cotton made a U-turn and headed to the store she always goes to. She told lottery officials, “I listened to the voice in my head telling me to go to my store.” And, what do you know, it paid off for the North Carolina grandma!
Cotton’s lucky store is Turner’s Mini Mart in Rocky Mount. And, that’s where she bought her $5 Mega Bucks tickets. The ticket ended up being worth $200,000 for the North Carolina woman. And, after taxes she pockets more than $142,000.
The $200,000 prize was one of several of the top prizes offered on the game that debuted this month. According to the lottery website, there are still seven $200,00 prizes that are unclaimed. Congratulations to Trina. And, it’s a reminder to always listen to that little voice! Read the full story on WBTV.
