Yellowstone Officials Trying To Track Down Man For Harassing Black Bears
First, I have to admit that when my pop-culture obsessed brain sees a headline about “Yellowstone Officials Trying to Track Down…” my first thought is, “What is Kevin Costner doing getting involved in this?” I know, I need help. That being said, I don’t need as much help as the idiot in the video below.
And I mean help on a couple of levels. First, from a danger standpoint let me repeat this for the 1000th time. These are not Disney characters. Life is not animated like “The Jungle Book.” There is no real life “Winnie the Pooh.” Bears are wild animals. They don’t like us near as much as we like them. And they will maul and eat you. SO DON’T MESS WITH THEM! I don’t care how much you want “content” to post, it’s not worth it.
Which leads to this dude. He decided to court death by filming himself chasing black bears and making barking sounds as the animals fled. Yellowstone officials (the park, not the show <g>), are now investigating. A recent incident is man filming himself chasing black bears and making barking noises as the animals ran away. It is uncertain if the incidents took place within Yellowstone, but officials are investigating.
Another level of aid this mental giant might need is legal. In 2018, an Oregon man was found guilty of messing with the park’s bison and stopping traffic. For his content-seeking deed, he received 130 days in jail.
