I consider myself a smart man.  I'm college educated (BA Baylor University '92).  I also love puzzles and problem solving.  It is for those reasons that my ineptitude with the Rubik's Cube has been a lifelong frustration.  I got my first one when I was still in elementary school (1980) and to this day, I have NEVER been able to solve the classic 3x3x3 cube.

Which is why I hate Max Park.

In what can only be described as a mind-boggling, extraordinary feat, Park didn't just solve the Rubik's Cube.  He didn't just set a new world record.  No, Max Park utterly SHATTERED the Guinness World Record for fasted time in solving the 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube.  He did it in 3.13 seconds.  I mean, how fast does this dude's mind work?!

Yusheng Du from China set the previous record in 2018.  He solved Erno Rubik's cube in 3.47 seconds. Now you may be thinking, "Hey wait, 3.13 isn't THAT much faster than 3.47."  Think again, if this was an Olympic event, officials and commentators would be losing their collective minds.

Max Park's performance took place during the Pride in Long Beach 2023 event held in California on June 11.  To further explain how big a deal his record-breaking performance is, check out how bananas everyone goes once Max does what Max does.

Esports are taking the world by storm. I'll admit it though, I just don't get the appeal of watching someone else play a video game. But I also realize I'm in the minority on that these days. In recent years esport games have been steadily gaining fans across the world. And just in the past twelve months, the search volume for ‘big esport games’ has increased by +210% in the US alone! But if you are new to that world where do you being? First would be discovering the most beloved esport games that US gamers simply can’t get enough of. And to do that, CasinosCrypto.com has used social listening data to figure out what the most popular video games are. With this data, they created a ranking of the top 20 most loved competitive e-sport games in the US as well as the top 10 games for each state. So what are the most popular video games in North Carolina?

The winner came in with over 3x the amount of searches as the second place game. The top 3, were League of Legends, Fortnite, and Valorant, though the difference between 2 and 3 was even more drastic than 1 and 2. There are clearly two games that are by far the most popular!
