280 New Jobs Coming To North Carolina With Better Than Average Salaries

Honda has some good news for the Tar Heel state. 280 new jobs are coming to North Carolina with better than average salaries.

The proposed Honda Jet 2600 model was unveiled two years ago according to Channel 9.  It is billed as the first light jet able to fly non stop across the continental United States.  It can carry 11 passengers. This is all great, especially for air travelers but the ones to really benefit from this move are the people of Guilford County in North Carolina. According to Channel 9, “The production decision means Honda Aircraft, which is headquartered at Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro, will invest another $56 million in Guilford County.”

So now we are talking about innovative air travel coming to North Carolina, more jobs, more money coming into the county and oh yeah,  better salaries.  The average salary will be around $88,000.  That is more than the average salary for Guilford County. 280 new jobs coming to North Carolina with  better than average salaries.

South Carolina Ranks as a Top State with Most Job Openings

Everyone wants a high-paying job that suits them. The U.S. continues to deal with the ripple effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, but key economic indicators have mixed messages about this year’s economy. Commodity.com recently analyzed which states in the U.S. have the most job openings. Over the past two years, job openings have doubled to 7% from 3.5% amid COVID shutdowns in April 2020. Although the overall statistics do not tell the whole story, the hiring outlook varies widely by industry, as with many aspects of the current economy.

During the pandemic, many sectors with the highest job opening rates were the most challenging to work in. Job opening rates are also affected by geographic location. Accordingly, researchers ranked states based on the average job openings rate for the fourth quarter of 2021, the most recent quarter available. You’ll find a summary of the analysis below, including South Carolina’s ranking, North Carolina, and nearby states.

Here are the states with the most job openings.

  • 1. Alaska

    Okay, we have to give you the number one first. Most job openings for 2022? It goes to the state of Alaska.

    • Average job openings rate: 9.00%
    • Average hire rate: 6.17%
    • Average monthly job openings: 31,000
    • Average monthly hires: 19,333
    • Average monthly employment: 313,514

  • 2. Georgia

    Ranking number three is the nearby state of Georgia. It is right next door if you need to get a new job!

    Average job openings rate: 8.23%

    Average hire rate: 5.30%

    Average monthly job openings: 416,667

    Average monthly hires: 245,333

    Average monthly employment: 4,628,931

     

  • South Carolina

    Coming in at the rank of number eight! Way to go South Carolina. You can see the number of job openings below.

    • Average job openings rate: 7.87%
    • Average hire rate: 5.57%
    • Average monthly job openings: 184,667
    • Average monthly hires: 120,333
    • Average monthly employment: 2,161,677

  • North Carolina

    Not far behind is the state of North Carolina! NC pulled in at rank number eleven. 

    • Average job openings rate: 7.57%
    • Average hire rate: 5.07%

    • Average monthly employment: 4,585,526

  • West Virgina

    Pulling in at rank number 15 in West Virginia. There are tons of different jobs open for the grabs!
