See Where You Can Get Free Donuts In North & South Carolina To Celebrate National Sprinkle Day

You had me at "free donuts."  Apparently, this weekend marks "National Sprinkle Day."  And, Duck Donuts locations are celebrating July 22 and July 23 with free donuts.  Their website explains that all you need to do is purchase a half dozen and you receive a free Sprinkle Day Box.  So, check their site to see where you can get free donuts in North & South Carolina.  There's locations all over the place.  A couple that are close to me include Brayden Parkway in Fort Mill, South Carolina and Sandy Rock Place in Charlotte, North Carolina.

And, you might wonder what's in the Sprinkle Day Box.  Well, this special celebratory box includes one Chocolate Confetti Donut and one Vanilla Confetti Donut.  The offer is valid in shops or online.  And, it's limit one Sprinkle Box per order.  Of course, as long as you're there, take a look at some of Duck Donuts other fun varieties.

Duck Donuts introduced the Popsicle Box in May.  And, it's available through August 27.  Their site says it's inspired by the colorful fruity treats we all remember.  There's Key Lime icing as well as other classic options.  Remember Fudge Pop?  There's Ice Cream Sandwich, Berry Pop, Rainbow Pop, Chocolate Nut Crunch and so many more.

And, it wouldn't be summer without Shark Week.  This Duck Donut assortment becomes available July 24-20 in honor of everyone's favorite Discovery Channel must see summer adventure.  Some of the Shark Week flavors include Shark Bite, a maple icing with chopped bacon and raspberry drizzle, The Beach vanilla icing with cinnamon sugar, The Sandbar, glazed with graham cracker crumbs, and so many more.  They're not only clever, but they sound absolutely delicious.  So, we'll revisit that idea when the time comes!

Friday, June 2 is National Donut Day, and ahead of the celebration, Yelp released its second annual Top 100 US Donut Shops list. And apparently, NC has some delicious donuts. One North Carolina Donut shop was named the second-best in the entire country. The highly praised donuts come to us from Asheville. And 2nd best, that's some high praise. They weren't alone as 5 total North Carolina places made Yelp's list. This includes donuts from Asheville, Fayetteville, and Concord among others.

While my current favorite donut spot, The Salty, didn't make the cut, I'll be sure to check out a couple of these locations. I enjoy a good gourmet donut but I also can't turn down a hot now Krispy Kreme glazed donut. There just might not be anything better! The best donut I've had lately- a butterbeer one from the previously mentioned The Salty. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately for my waistline) it was a limited-time offering. So how did Yelp come up with these ratings that ranked a North Carolina Donut Shop 2nd best in the country? According to Yelp, they "identified businesses in the donuts category, then ranked those spots using a number of factors, including the total volume and ratings of reviews between January 1st, 2022 and March 31st, 2023."

Have you tried HOLE? I haven't but I typically visit Asheville at least once a year so I will definitely be adding this to my list for my next visit!

This is the second time Superior Bakery in Fayetteville has made the top 100 list, though that took a substantial jump this year.

Apparently, I'm not up on my donuts, while Raleigh is my second home, I've never tried Baker's Dozen either.
