About Angel Oak Tree

I admit I was unfamiliar with this particular landmark making South Carolina's most popular proposal spot.  So, in looking it up I found it's an historical site.  And, it's thought to be the largest Live Oak Tree east of the Mississippi.  Plus, the Charleston-SC.gov website estimates its age between 300-400 years.  And, around 400,000 people visit the site each year.  So, if  you want to stage a wedding or photo shoot at the tree you'll need to get a permit.  There's more info here about that.

Other Contenders

Cary, North Carolina's Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve hits the list at 95.  And, The Battery in Charleston fared even better at 84.  Pitt Street Bridge in Mount Pleasant finished just outside the top 10 at number 11.

In The Queen City

As for the Queen City, Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens made the list of most popular spots for proposals.  Everyone I know who visits Charlotte's Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens speaks highly of its beauty.  But, how did Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden fare?  Well, it's about halfway down at 122.  The destination stays open year round to visitors.  And, there's numerous fountains, trails and special events throughout the months.  However, if you want to view the full list take a look here.  Who knows, you might decide to stage your proposal at one of the most popular spots in the nation.
