An Authentic French Bakery Is Coming To This Small South Carolina Town Soon
You had me at “French Bakery.” Who doesn’t love an authentic French bakery with pastries, breads and desserts? Well, now Boiling Springs, South Carolina gets ready to welcome The Bread Guy bakery this Fall. And, according to WSPA, owner Nicolas Dhers is the real deal. Dhers was born in France and learned his baking craft there. Then, he spent over a decade in Miami with a bakery and working in fine dining.
After relocating to Spartanburg in 2016, Dhers owned a handful of restaurants that ultimately closed due to the pandemic. But, now Boiling Springs gets the honor of his authentic French bakery The Bread Guy’s handmade, all natural treats. We’ll find The Bread Guy in mid-September on Parris Bridge Rd. in Boiling Springs.
One of my all time favorite breads is Brioche. It’s ever so fluffy and light, yet also indulgent and decadent. But, I choose my carbs sparingly these days. However, The Bread Guy might just be tempting enough to splurge. And, if Dhers plans to serve Macarons, forget about it. I’ll make a trip there on the regular.
Plus, if you can’t wait for September to sample The Bread Guy’s treats, there’s another option sooner. Dher’s goods are available at Chef Ae’s Restaurant on Magnolia Street in Spartanburg. I checked it out online. And, it appears that Chef Ae’s bills itself as “French, American and Thai.” I noticed many tempting Thai selections, as well as burgers. And, yes, there were macarons on the menu! I’m guessing those were the creation of Nicolas Dher.
But, in the meantime we’ll keep watching for the official opening of The Bread Guy in Boiling Springs. And, good luck to Nicolas Dher as he shares his expertise and authentic French bakery with more folks in South Carolina.
