Banner Plane Crash In Myrtle Beach South Carolina Stuns Beachgoers
We just returned from one of our many trips this summer to Myrtle Beach. So, we weren’t on hand when the Myrtle Beach banner plane crash happened Monday morning. However, The Sun News says a banner plane crashed into the ocean at 40th Avenue. Beach visitors went into the water to assist the pilot, who reportedly is ok and being treated at a hospital.
Reports say the Myrtle Beach banner plane crash happened around 11:30 a.m. Authorities will investigate. But, the cause of the crash is not known right now. In looking at bystanders’ videos, sometime just after noon the banner plane was in the water with the banner still on the sand. Onlookers described the moments before the crash as quiet.
Of course, anyone familiar with Myrtle Beach sees the planes that often fly above the beach advertising various businesses in the area. And, you rarely see any problems arise from the planes. So, it’s certainly alarming when you hear of such an incident.
I remember many a time looking up at the banners and taking note of the businesses they advertise. In fact, some of our dinner or entertainment plans arose from things we saw displayed on the banner planes.
We continue to watch for more information concerning the condition of the pilot and what led to the crash. For more see the full story from The Sun.
