A restaurant near and dear to a lot of people is closing it’s doors. Here is why one of North Carolina’s most popular restaurants is closing.
Lebowski’s Neighborhood Grill has been in the Dilworth neighborhood in Charlotte for a long time. The grill on East Boulevard has been a staple for fifteen years, so why are they shutting their doors? Here is the good news. This is not permanent.
In a social media post, the folks at Lebowski’s Neighborhood Grill say the restaurant is getting a face lift. The space is getting an update and undergoing changes with some help from a neighbor. Reid’s Fine Foods says “We are excited to work with the Lewbowski’s team” according to their social media post and reported in the Charlotte Observer.
The restaurant is themed after the movie, “The Big Lebowski”. Here is why one of North Carolina’s most popular restaurants is closing. According to Reid’s , the decor will be new and the menu will be updated. They also hope to be open every day. Reid’s Fine Foods has four locations in Charlotte. There is also one location in South Carolina. Reid’s has been around since 1928.
The new and improved Lebowski’s will be reopening later this month. We don’t know the exact date yet but as soon as we know we will pass it along.

There is no shortage of fantastic restaurants in Charlotte. And it seems more are opening by the day. Many of these high-profile spots are delicious and we’ve told you about plenty of them. But now it’s time to delve into some different restaurants. Not necessarily the newest or the trendiest, but definitely some of the best. Many of these places you’ve probably driven past hundreds of times and maybe never given a second thought. Or perhaps you’ve thought “We should try that sometime” and just never have. These are what we like to call hidden gem restaurants and there are numerous in Charlotte and the surrounding area. Some are Charlotte institutions, some are on the newer side.
To create this list, I added some of my personal favorites as well as consulted with friends and family on some places they thought fit this description. These hidden gem restaurants in Charlotte offer a wide variety of cuisine from Italian, the Mexican, to Greek, Asian, and just good ole homestyle cooking. A few things are for certain after looking at all these restaurants, I’m now hungry, and it will be a while before I say “I don’t know where I want to eat”.
