This North Carolina City Just Made Top 10 List For Renters With Families And Here’s Why
Life changed over the last few years. And, it’s especially true post-pandemic. Also, with the changing economy a lot of folks chose to cash out, selling their homes and dipping their toes into the renting market. And, RentCafe.com, a site that helps renters locate properties, just published a list of the best cities for renters with families. So, one North Carolina city made the top 10. And, you may have guessed, it’s Raleigh. So let’s explore why.
Rent Cafe pointed out that there are around 68 million renters with families. I recall back in the day, it was mostly young professionals or singles and college students in the rental market. However, dynamics shifted. Hey, my husband and I even got back in the rental game a couple of years ago. Our son is in college, and we wanted to downsize and move into the state where he was in school to save money. And, with so many more renters these days, Rent Cafe looked at 140 cities in the U.S. to see what they had for renters who also have children.
According to the study, most of the popular options are in the South. The number one spot was Plano, Texas. But, there were locations in Georgia and Virginia also. To arrive at the best rankings, they analyzed 25 metrics. Some of those included cost of living, availability of apartments to fit a family, quality of schools and anything else relating to children’s needs. And, apparently, Raleigh fit as the 9th best city for renters with families because of economy, and quality of life. Of course, with its proximity to major universities like UNC and NC State, research and development played a role in the ranking.
And, the study pointed out Raleigh has plenty of museums and parks. Plus, it indicated that they found a good number of apartments large enough for families. So, add Raleigh, North Carolina to your list of considerations if you are one of the many families looking to rent. See Rent Cafe’s full list here.
