Here's How To Get Tickets To The North Carolina State Fair

One way to distract yourself from this late summer staggering heat?  Pay attention to all the signs that fall is just around the corner.  Schools starting to get back in session?  Check.  Football back on TV?  Check.  Tickets to the North Carolina State Fair going on sale?  Check!

The North Carolina State Fair is slated for the state fairgrounds in Raleigh October 12-22.  Advance tickets go on sale today (August 15).  Discounted admission tickets are available as well as unlimited ride wristbands!  Here are all the details.

Advance admission tickets (available until the fair begins in October) are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6 to 12 years old. Those unlimited ride wristbands?  On sale for just $30, There is a catch though.  The wristbands are one day use only and do not include the State Fair Flyer or the State Fair SkyGazer. Wristbands that are purchased online can get picked up at the Ride Ticket Plazas once the Fair starts.  Other ticket deals include:

  • Dizzy Pass ($38) – One gate admission ticket and one unlimited ride wristband
  • Kegs & Cork Pass ($17) – One gate admission ticket, one NC Public House beer + wine ticket
  • State Fair Flyer Package ($34) – Two gate admission tickets and two round-trip State Fair Flyer tickets
  • State Fair SkyGazer ($14) – One gate admission ticket and one State Fair SkyGazer ticket

According to WRAL, here are other fair related dates to be aware of.

  • Sept. 6: Homegrown Music Fest line-up announced
  • Sept. 15: Most competition classes close for entry
  • Sept. 23 and 24: Last weekend of The Raleigh Market until November
  • Sept. 24: The fairgrounds closes to the general public for fair prep
  • Sept. 28: Walk-up ticket sales open at Gate 9 at the Fairgrounds, the State Farmer's Market and the N.C. Museum of History
  • Oct. 1: N.C. State Fair Campground closes for public camping
  • Oct. 12: Last day to purchase tickets in advance
