Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis wants Disney CEO Bob Iger to get the company to drop its lawsuit against him and other Florida officials. DeSantis and Walt Disney World.
Disney is one of the biggest employers in Florida and they have been at odds for months stemming from the governor’s school legislation. Following Disney’s critical remarks, DeSantis had Walt Disney World’s special tax district privileges removed.
When asked by CNBC what he would say to Iger if he had the chance to speak with him on the phone, DeSantis said, “So what I would say is, drop the lawsuit. [Florida] is a great place to do business. Your competitors all do very well here, Universal, SeaWorld. They have not had the same special privileges as you have.”
DeSantis added, “So all we want to do is treat everybody the same and let’s move forward. I’m totally fine with that. But I’m not fine with giving extraordinary privileges, you know, to one special company at the exclusion of everybody else.” Do you think Disney will drop their lawsuit? Do you think things will go before a court or be settled out of court?
North Carolina Is A Top State People Are Leaving to Move To Florida
Why would you want to leave North Carolina? We have everything! The only downfall is that we have to pay taxes on clothes. (In New Jersey I didn't have this problem)
Truth is, people like the beach and they like warm weather. Thanks to the U.S. Census, we can see how many people are moving from other states to the Sunshine State. Sadly, North Carolina was number 7 on the top 10 list. These are the top ten states people left in 2019 to move to good old Florida.
#10: Illinois

#9: Virginia

#8: Texas

#7: North Carolina

#6: New Jersey

#5: California
