Ever since Florence, South Carolina got a Buc-ee’s, it’s a regular stop for us during our trips to Myrtle Beach. Buc-ee’s garnered fame for their hundreds of fuel pumps, clean bathrooms and snacks. And, the snacks are what this job application is all about. FinanceBuzz advertised they plan to pay one applicant $1000 to take on the role of Buc-ee’s taste tester.
According to Yahoo News, the Buc-ee’s “Bud-ee” needs to be at least 18 and live near a Buc-ee’s or be able to travel to one. Also, the Buc-ee’s taste tester must try lots of snacks. And, they complete the job over the course of 2 weeks. If you visit a Buc-ee’s, you know all about the famous “Beaver Nuggets.” These are crunchy bagged snacks. And, they come in sweet, cinnamon and caramel flavored. Or, sometimes they’re savory and cheesy.
But, Buc-ee’s offers so much more. I love their barbecue brisket sandwiches. Get ’em sliced or chopped. The staff is busy slicing and chopping right before your eyes. Plus, Buc-ee’s serves up fresh fudge in tons of flavors. Buc-ee’s tacos and kolaches we remember from Texas. And, there’s a host of other snacks the applicant needs to review. Of course, the tester gets $250 to cover expenses.
