North Carolina Town Named To List Of Best Fall Travel With Gorgeous Scenery
Admittedly, I love Fall best of all. And, now that the kids are starting to return to school we turn to options for ushering in the new season. Travel + Leisure issued their list of “16 Best Fall Vacations for Foliage Views, Fewer Crowds and Stunning Scenery.” And, Asheville, North Carolina made the best Fall travel list. I wholeheartedly agree and recommend Asheville.
Of course, it doesn’t surprise us that Travel + Leisure also loves Asheville for Fall travel. Asheville is tucked away in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. And, for you “leaf peepers” the scenery in early Fall is breathtaking. Plus, Asheville isn’t too huge and bustling. It still has the atmosphere some refer to as “quaint.” There’s shopping, breweries and delicious restaurants. And, one of my all time favorite places to visit is The Biltmore House in Asheville.
Biltmore Estate is something you need to put on your bucket list if you never visited before. It was so much grander than I even imagined. And, it was always on our list of Fall destinations when we first moved to the Carolinas. Our favorite time was Christmas at the Biltmore. We had dinner at one of the estate restaurants and toured the house by candlelight. Then, we stayed at a bed and breakfast and returned the next day for lunch at the estate and a winery tour. It was so much fun.
Plus, Travel + Leisure points out that visitors enjoy hiking in nearby Pisgah National Forest for views of waterfalls. And, they suggest accommodations at Airbnb cabins or a tree house. I have to say I visited Asheville numerous times. But, I never considered staying in a tree house. However, if that’s your thing go for it.
