You had me at chicken wings!  And, there's good news for a popular South Carolina destination.  Myrtle Beach welcomes new chicken wings restaurant "Why Not Wings?" this week to 1315 N. Kings Hwy.  And, according to the restaurant social media posts, the grand opening takes place Friday, the 25th, at noon.

So, for frequent Myrtle Beach visitors like myself Why Not Wings? may turn out to be another of our go-to spots.  The new chicken wings restaurant bills itself as "Home of the Barbecue Pineapple Wings."  However, Why Not Wings? is more than just wings.  Other posts include enticing photos of  "Fruity Pebble Chicken & Waffles."  Ok, I get the appeal of salty mixed with sweet.  But, I don't know about mixing fruity pebbles with my chicken!  Although, it could totally work on the other hand.

And, Why Not Wings? offers up Mexican Street Corn Wings, too.  Also, for nacho lovers they have those, too.  Plus, another of their posts showed a beautiful dish of Buffalo Garlic Parmesan Wings and "Loaded Fries" with cheese, jalapenos and bacon. Unfortunately, at this early stage in the game Why Not Wings? doesn't have a menu posted yet.  And, there's not any other info about the establishment.  However, we do know they posted their hours as Monday-Thursday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday-Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 a.m.  So, if you get a super late night craving for wings, you're in luck!

Of course, we have enjoyed the humble chicken wing for decades now.  But, do you know the history of wings?  Well, a quick search shows we believe the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, New York invented them in 1964.  According to the story, it was a "way to use up excess chicken wings, which were cheap and readily available at the time." Unfortunately, they aren't considered cheap anymore.  It seems over the last couple of years the price keeps climbing.  But, we'll keep loving them!  And, hey, get your next batch of chicken wings in Myrtle Beach at Why Not Wings?.

The Five Best Spots For Chicken Wings In South Carolina

I am more than a little embarrassed to admit this, but I used to think Buffalo wings were named after the animal. You, of course, know, Buffalo wings originated in Buffalo, New York.  Here are the five best spots for chicken wings in South Carolina.

When you look up what people love most to eat at football parties you will find chicken wings top of the list.  Personally, I go for the chicken drumettes.  Chicken wings and drumettes are crowd-pleasers.  If you put out a tray of this delicious party food, trust me it will be empty the fastest.  I know this from personal experience.

To dip or not to dip, that is the question.  Some people enjoy a little extra on their chicken wings.  But, most chicken wings come flavored already.  Let's see there is barbecue, teriyaki, plain, and sesame... the choices are endless.  If you have a hankering for a certain flavor, you can slap it on a chicken wing!

Americans eat more than 1.38 billion wings during the "Big Game".  From bone-in to boneless or sweet and savory they are easy to hold and easy to love.  If you would like the complete list of the seven best spots for chicken wings in South Carolina, get details from Big 7 Travel here.

At Home Team BBQ they have taken a unique approach by bringing the fundamentals of the “white tablecloth” world to the low and slow ideals of BBQ. Another unique approach is serving whisky with wings and it works way better than you could ever imagine.
