North Carolina ‘Bombshell’ Makes Her Mark In Paradise On Reality TV Show

Charlotte’s Dasja Johnson is a renaissance woman of sorts. She was born in Harrells, North Carolina but now lives in Charlotte. Dasja’s a former Carolina Panthers cheerleader. She’s currently a part-time Charlotte Hornets cheerleader. Also, Johnson is a data processor and oh yeah, right now she’s shaking up the mix on reality TV. Dasja Johnson is part of the cast of “Love Island USA,” currently streaming on Peacock.
“Love Island USA” is a popular dating show set on the island of Fiji that features s group of singles looking for love in a tropical villa. As you can probably guess, the drama unfolds once challenges, competitions, and temptations are entered into the sauce.
The “temptation” part is where Dasja Johnson comes in.
“Love Island USA” devotees will tell you that “Casa Amor” week is not to be missed. That’s where the show forces the islanders to split up testing couples’ loyalties. Guess which week Dasja Johnson joined the show as one of the “12 bombshells” tasked with causing a stir?
According to WCNC, Johnson said that she had to go through six interviews over the course of several months. She found out a few weeks before the show that she would be on it, but did not know when or what her role would be until a few days before she left for Fiji.
Who knew being on a reality TV dating show required anything more than a one-time, “She’s hot, book her flight!”
Check out Dasja’s adventures on “Love Island USA” now streaming on Peacock.
Number Of North Carolina Reality TV Singing Competition Winners Is Second In The Nation
Do you love reality TV singing competitions? I was once an avid viewer of American Idol back in the early seasons, but eventually gave that up. Partially due to the lack of the majority of contestants ever going on to have a successful music career. It just felt like a waste to watch and get emotionally attached to artists who you’d never hear from again. But many of these shows including American Idol and The Voice are still thriving and attracting both viewers and contestants. And here in North Carolina, we have the second-highest number of reality singing competition winners in the nation. Who would have thought? We actually had several contestants from North Carolina including Kellie Pickler, Chris Daughtry, and Clay Aiken but none of those three went on to win the competition.
But three others did, and all three represent different genres of music. Our friends over at BetCarolina.com – your source for North Carolina sports betting – utilized Wikipedia to gather each winner from each season of NBC’s “The Voice,” FOX & ABC’s “American Idol” as well as the singers who won on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” After compiling this data they were able to compile a list of the states that have produced the most singing competition winners. Do you think you remember the three North Carolina singing competition winners? Keep reading to see if you are correct!
