One of the best things about taking the long vacation we just returned from is this. My mind is as clear as it's been in years. One of the bad things about taking the long vacation we just returned from is my mind is as clear as it's been in years. By that I mean, I'm able to notice things that normally would just fade in the background. For example, it's just a dark world right now. We've got major labor strikes in this country that don't look like they will be resolved anytime soon. The war in Ukraine has no end in sight and it appears we're financing it. Our presidential situation (present and future)? Don't get me started on that mess. Bottom line, we need a little light to shine. Gotcha covered.
The 82nd Airborne Division Chorus has been competing on America's Got Talent. Last night they once again took the national stage and absolutely crushed Pink's "I Am Here." This performance elicited high praise from noted talent curmudgeon, Simon Cowell. "This is a Pink song, which you turned around with a perfect lyric, and it was fun, and it was emotive. For me, this was a moment. You are one of my favorite acts this year."
I love what judge Howie Mandel said of the group's performance. "Without you, we couldn't do what we're doing," We wouldn't have the freedom, we wouldn't have the peace, we wouldn't have the safety. I can't thank you enough for more than your performance, just for being here." Will the group make it to the finals? Find out tonight on WCNC as the live results show airs at 8.
