Ed Sheeran Serenades ‘Friends’ Star With Song Inspired By ‘Friends’

So, my first reaction to this was, "What is Courtney Cox doing in Ed Sheeran's kitchen?"  Wait, I'm getting ahead of myself.  You've got to check out this video below.  Apparently, "Monica Geller" from "Friends" was hanging out with Ed Sheeran.  At some point he pulls her in the kitchen and serenades her with a song called, "American Girl."  He explains the song was inspired by her hit show, "Friends."

And the years started cold but I didn't notice at all and we found there's a room with both in
We ate Chinese food in small white boxes
Lived a life we saw in Friends
Your room it barely fits the mattress, wake up late for work again.

I think my favorite part of the video is at the end when Courtney questions, "Wait, that was really about the show 'Friends'?"  And Sheeran, confused by her forgetting that he said the song was inspired by the show responds, "Well inspired by it, yeah. Because you eat Chinese food in small white boxes, living the life we saw in 'Friends'."

Now, the answer to my initial query.  It's not as random as I thought that Courtney Cox was in Ed Sheeran's kitchen.  According to The Daily Mail, Ed and Courteney have been friends for over 10 years and he even introduced the Friends star to her partner Johnny McDaid, who is in the band Snow Patrol.

Last night we received the sad news that James Michael Tyler, best known as Gunther on 'Friends' had passed away from cancer. Tyler was just 59  years old. He became a household name during his time on 'Friends' thanks to his lovable role in Central Perk. He adored Rachel and would have done anything for her, including taking her hairless cat as a pet. And not just taking it off her hands actually paying her to take it. In his memory here are 10 Friends scenes that made us fall in love with Gunther and by that regard James Michael Tyler.
