Nature! We love getting out in it. This fall people who love the outdoors will have a new way to celebrate. An Upcoming Trail Days event is coming to this North Carolina town.

Shelby, North Carolina is one of only ten communities across the Tar Heel state to be chosen for North Carolina's Year of the Trail according to the Shelby Star. The city plans a three day celebration they are calling Shelby Trail Days.

The events will take place October 20-22.  It will coincide with another big Cleveland County event, The Mush, Music and Mutts festival. For Shelby Trail Days you can enjoy guided hikes and river paddles and a ceremony introducing the community to phase one of the Carolina Harmony Trail. The North Carolina House of Representatives  declared 2023 the year of the trail.

A Shelby Trail Days event page has been set up. It will give you a schedule of events beginning that Friday morning with a bird watch at the Broad River Greenway. There will also be an evening trail walk with the mayor.  To learn more details, get them here from the Shelby Star. What a great way for people to get out and enjoy the wonderment of trails maybe for the very first time.
