Happy 20th birthday to this iconic fall beverage. But if we had called it something different would it still be a classic.  Pumpkin Spice Latte was almost called something different.

People Magazine says the drink that originated at Starbucks almost went by something else.  It's creator Peter Dukes and his team brainstormed 20 years ago about what to call the delicious seasonal hot drink.  He says they floated almost 100 names around before settling on what to call it.

According to People, they considered naming it, "Fall Harvest Latte" but luckily landed on Pumpkin Spice Latte. Not only did they struggle with a name, they also reportedly struggled on the flavors.  They knew coffee would be the base but thought about adding orange and cinnamon.  Pumpkin it is and here we are!  To learn more about this story get details from People right here.
