Are you good at taking pictures? You could be 200 dollars richer. The North Carolina wildlife commission is putting on a photo contest with cash prizes.
All you have to do is capture the best wildlife image in North Carolina. This is open to all amateur and professional photographers. Wildlife officers and their families are not eligible. There will be ten categories for judging. You can submit in up to two categories according to Channel 3 in Charlotte.
You can't go taking pictures of your own pets or domestic animals. This must be North Carolina wildlife. The only exception is hunting dogs if they are working with wildlife. Cash isn't the only prize. The winning photos will also have their picture published on the cover of "Wildlife in North Carolina". Last year around 1,700 photos were submitted.

- Animal Behavior
- Birds
- Invertebrates
- Mammals
- Outdoor Recreation
- Reptiles and Amphibians
- Wild Landscapes
- Wild Plants and Fungi
- Youth Photographer, 13-17: Any of the above subjects, shot by children ages 13-17.
- Youth Photographer, 12 and under: Any of the above subjects, shot by children 12 and younger.
