My wife is the queen of all things agri-tainment in the fall.  She's all about hayrides, haunted _____, cider farms, etc.  All that being said, if you really want to see her light up, bring up the thought of navigating a corn maze.  OMG, does she love these things.  And I don't.  One, I can't stand the feeling of being a human version of a rat.  Two, I once got involved in a human maze at Myrtle Beach.  Nature's call was beckoning.  I could not find my way out.  It was almost the ultimate nightmare.

One of her favorite spots was Aw Shucks Farm in Union County.  Many an evening has been spent in their corn maze.  HOWEVER, no more.

AW SHUCKS FARM

So, if you're looking to satisfy your corn maze jones, here are a few suggestions.

THE AMAZING MAIZE MAZE AT RURAL HILL

Through October 29th you can wind your way through the maize maze at Rural Hill Farm in Huntersville.  The cool thing about corn mazes is it doesn't have to be nighttime to enjoy.  Friday through Sundays from 10am-5pm, you can test your navigation skills.  And Friday and Saturday nights, enjoy from 6-9pm.  Get your tickets here.

CHERRY PLACE FARM

Cherry Place Farm in Rock Hill is an awesome corn maze choice.  First off, it's HUGE.  Like two acres huge.  Right now, on Saturdays and Sundays, the cost is just ten bucks, and you can also enjoy fun games for the kids, hayrides and a pumpkin patch.

COUNTRY DAYS CORN MAZE

With Aw Shucks no longer offering their corn maze activity, here's a great alternative still in Union County.  The totally family-friendly Country Days boasts not one, but two mazes.  First, there's the "Big Ears Maze." designed in honor of country star Reba McEntire (not sure if she's all that excited about that? <g>).  And then there's the little ears maze for the kiddos 10 and under.  Cost for the fun through the first week in November is just $8.

Have fun this fall in your corn maze of choice.  BUT, take it from me, make sure you go to the bathroom first.  Just sayin'.
