These days it’s hard not to fall prey to scammers, especially online. They really are clever and manipulative. And, I recently saw a warning to beware of an online scam involving major chain Longhorn Steakhouse. Also, this one looks way too legit. So, be careful.
According to WCNC, the scam says Longhorn Steakhouse will offer a free dinner for two in the month of October to anyone who posts and comments on the post. First of all, we always start with questions. And, this one sounds too good to be true, right?
So, according to the story, the news outlet reached out to various sources including the restaurant chain and the Better Business Bureau in Charlotte. And, they found that no such offer had been made by the chain. The parent company said, “This offer is not real and cannot be redeemed.”
And, like I said, don’t feel bad if you got swept up in this or a similar one. It looks real. And, that’s because the scammers took pictures from the Longhorn Steakhouse website to use in promoting the fake offer. Plus, the scam goes further typically. Once social media users share the post as instructed, they scammers reach out via messenger or through “surveys.” And, boom, they grab your personal info.
Therefore, it’s always safer to proceed with caution and ask if it’s too good to be true. Check by doing directly to the business site. And, don’t give up any personal info. Also, never click any links you’re unsure of. And, report the scam to proper outlets. Plus, take appropriate precautions to protect yourself if you happen to accidentally click one of these suspicious links. For more on the Longhorn Steakhouse scam and the full story see WCNC.
Yelp Says This Is The Best Hibachi Japanese Steakhouse In Charlotte And I Agree (It's The Best I've Ever Been To)
With so many trendy restaurants opening up I feel like hibachi restaurants don’t get the same love they once did. They were the place to go for special occasions. And despite maybe not having quite the draw they once did, they are still at the top of my list. I’ve tried several throughout Charlotte, in Raleigh where I went to college (Go Pack!), in Myrtle Beach, and even in Turks & Caicos. But I’ve never found one that compared to what was always my family’s go-to. We went there every New Year’s Eve for years and for other family birthdays and special occasions. But is my top choice the best or am I just biased? I decided to consult Yelp, to see what their reviewers thought was the best hibachi steakhouse in Charlotte.
But with so many of these types of restaurants and the same go-to tricks we’ve all seen. You know the onion volcano, the shrimp in the hat, the heart made out of rice. While the element of surprise isn’t there, the light-hearted fun is. Admit it, dinner and a show just hits differently. What makes my favorite hibachi restaurant my favorite? Simply put is that it’s one of only two I’ve ever been to that give you both rice and noodles. And as a carb lover, that’s the way to my heart. Keep reading to see the top 5 hibachi Japanese steakhouses in Charlotte according to Yelp. Note that only cook-in-front-of-you true hibachi-style restaurants were included on this list.
