It is fair to say I have a soft spot for senior citizens. Now more than ever seniors want to stay active but sometimes they can't afford a new pair of shoes. This shoe drive is looking for donations for seniors in this North Carolina town.
People are living well into their 80s now and living well. It is hard to stay active when you don't have the proper footwear.
Best Life for Seniors is getting together with Samaritan's Feet. According to the Shelby Star, with every pair of new athletic shoes donated, the non profit organization will provide a lightweight pair of shoes for seniors in need. Samaritan's Feet Official, Deborah Cox- Roush tells the Star, "Best for Senior Living and Samaritan's Feet will then hold a distribution at Best for Senior Living facilities and provide the gift of shoes and hope to their senior citizens".
Here is where Cleveland County residents can drop off shoes:
Cleveland House, 950 Hardin Dr., Shelby
Shelby Manor at 1176 Wyke Road, Shelby
Country Time Inn, at 602 Brevard Road, Kings Mountain
Somerset Court of Cherryville at 401 W. Academy St., Cherryville
