It's no secret that I am and always was a big fan of Fall and the Halloween season in general.  So, when I saw that Woods of Terror North Carolina made top haunted attractions in the state I got excited.  And, if you're like me and looking for all things spooky, add this to your list.

According to CBS 17, the spot that gets the top haunted attraction in North Carolina nod is Greensboro's Woods of Terror.  A digital horror publication named FrightFind.com tracks this sort of thing.  And, apparently, Woods of Terror goes above and beyond in their books.  They recently released their scariest spots in each state.

In FrightFind's words, "As you immerse yourself in this frightfully realistic horror film set, nearly two hundred actors are committed to inducing sheer terror."  You find Woods of Terror at 5601 Church St. in Greensboro.  And, included in the top haunted attraction you experience Phobia House, The Mortuary and Monster Midway.  It totally sounds like it's right up my alley.

When my son was younger a group of us moms and kids got together and took everyone to haunted houses.  It was our thing every weekend in October.  I miss those days.  But, who says you can't go as an adult?

And, in case you wonder, another spot in North Carolina finished in second place according to FrightFind.  In Middlesex, they pointed to Darkside Haunted Estates.  That haunted attraction features The Slaugherhouse, Clown Town and Insane Asylum.  I am terrified of clowns.  So, that one obviously makes my skin crawl!

So, if you want more info on the FrightFind list be sure to check it out.  And, find more info on their top haunted attraction in North Carolina, Woods of Terror to  plan your visit.

Why watch a horror movie when you could experience it for yourself? There are many haunted attractions in North Carolina, so chances are there is one near you. Some are haunted houses or indoor mazes. Others are outdoors through corn mazes, woods, or perhaps lakeside. And the best part? Most of these haunted locations have a number of attractions so you get lots of scares for your money.

I've chosen to highlight six of the best-haunted attractions in North Carolina. These are all in the greater Charlotte region, within about an hour and a half drive from the Queen City. And even if some of these are a little far- they are worth the drive for sure! Each location on this list offers something unique and is either one I personally have visited or has come highly recommended by friends! As with any haunted experience, the goal of these attractions is to find any way to scare you. One even says if someone hasn't peed their pants by the end of the night well they didn't do their job. So these are not for the faint of heart. Most have restrictions and will not allow children under the age of 12 to visit.

So visit or enter at your own risk. If you dare. Keep reading to see 6 of the best haunted attractions in the Charlotte North Carolina region. Have an attraction you love that I missed? Be sure to reach out to us on social media to let us know! Happy Haunting.
