North Carolina Christmas Tree On Its Way To The White House

A family from Ashe County will be heading up north to deliver one of their prized trees. Just this week the Church family gathered at Cline Church Nursery in Fleetwood to harvest the tree. Their 18 1/2-foot tree was chosen for the White House according to Channel 9 in Charlotte. The tree is 20 years old. According to WSOC TV, “Cline Church said he’s been growing Christmas trees in the area for 50 years. His son Alex remembers planting the tree back when he was a junior in high school”.
This is the second time in the past three years that a tree from North Carolina has been selected to go to Washington. The Church family tree was so large it required a crane to manage it.
