Here's why a major South Carolina interstate was shut down for hours
It is an eerie sight when this highway has no cars on it. Especially in drive time on a weekday morning. Here’s why a major South Carolina interstate was shut down for hours.
According to Channel 9 in Charlotte and our own traffic reporter, Cpt. Jim, an 18 wheeler overturned on I77 Southbound near Rock Hill, South Carolina. The road closed and traffic was backed up for miles and miles.
Travelers could take a detour at exit 77 according to the York County Sheriff’s office. The South Carolina Highway Patrol says drivers can get on to Anderson Road to Porter and then back to I 77. This story is developing. We don’t know yet what caused the accident or if there were any injuries.
