Does it seem like every day there's a new recalled product we have to watch out for?  Well, now soft drinks were recalled in three Southern States.  So, in case you planned on stocking up on these for yourself or holiday guests, think again.

According to Southern Living, the recall affects Alabama, Florida and Mississippi.  And, the popular soft drinks involved in the recall are Diet Coke, Fanta Orange and Sprite.  The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says the 12 oz. aluminum can products from United Packers, LLC may contain foreign materials.  But, as of now they are no longer on shelves.

However, if you happen to have bought any of the products in the recall make sure you check your labels.  Then, if you find you do have any of the recalled soft drinks take action.  So, either return them to the point of purchase or dispose of them.

And, the FDA lists UPC numbers and 'best by' dates to be on the watch for:

Diet Coke 12 oz. cans, 12 pack fridge pack Lot No. JAN2924MBD3, UPC 49000028911, Best By 01/29/24

Fanta Orange, 12 oz cans, 12 pack fridge pack Lot No. JUL2924MBD3, UPC 49000030730 Best By 07/29/24

Sprite 12 oz. cans, 12 pack fridge pack Lot No. JUL2924MBD3, UPC 49000028928 Best By 07/29/24.

And, for more information on the soft drinks were recalled in three Southern states story, see the full article from Southern Living.  But, make sure to check those labels of any fridge packs or soft drinks you think might fall under the recall umbrella.

I know a lot of us use several of those products for holiday cocktail mixers or punch recipes.  So, it's always better to err on the side of caution before serving them to guests or family.  Take care and have a very happy holiday season!
