It made national news when it was christened Sweepy McSweepface. North Carolina's most popular electric street cleaner returns at the beginning of the year.

Giving the vehicle a name somehow makes it seem more human doesn't it.  News outlets across the country thought it's name was amusing.  In a way, it's one of the nation's most popular electric street cleaners. Sweepy's main job is keeping the streets clean in Charlotte in the bike lanes.

Sweepy has his own spokesperson and he tells our source Channel 9 why he has been out of commission.  Sweepy was sidelined because of circuit boards that need replacing.  The good news is, he was under warranty. And that means there is no cost to the taxpayer.
