Shocking Ways To Use Salt
Salt has been kept in kitchens for centuries to flavor and preserve foods, but there’s a lot more ways to use it according to Goodnet.
The first shocking way you can use salt is to test if your eggs are fresh. To do this you put four tablespoons of salt into two cups of water and stir it until it’s all dissolved. Then you just add your eggs gently into the bowl or cup. If your egg ends up sinking, it is still good to use. However, if the egg floats it has gone bad and shouldn’t be used.
Salt can also be used to clean pots and pans. If you have a pan that is really greasy, you can simply cover the pan with salt and let it sit for ten minutes. Once it’s ready, you just scrub it like any other dish and it’ll come clean. The same thing can also be done for spills. If food ends up spilling in your oven you can cover it with salt and easily brush the spot clean once the oven has cooled.
If you have slow or clogged drains the first thing that you should do is reach for your salt. While most people will immediately use harsh chemicals or call a plumber, salt might actually be able to solve your clogged drain problem. For this method you just mix one cup of salt with a half cup of vinegar and pour it down the drain. Let the mixture sit for ten minutes then pour in two liters of boiled water. After, you just run warm water until the drain works properly. Of course, if this method doesn’t work you might need something stronger.
