This popular North Carolina hands on museum is hosting a solar eclipse viewing event. One of nature’s most spectacular shows is happening April 8. We are talking about the Great North American Eclipse. And Discovery Place in Charlotte is making it possible for everyone to have an awesome experience.
According to wsoctv.com Discovery Place will celebrate the unique event with “interactive eclipse and astronomy themed activities” on April 8. Charlotte will only experience a partial eclipse. We will see about 83.4% of it here. But that won’t stop the learning or the fun. Discovery Place Kids in Huntersville and Discovery Place Science will offer outdoor things to do as well as viewing parties. And there will not be a charge for those things.
You can watch the eclipse from the Discovery Place parking deck in uptown from 2-4. There will even be a livestream event featuring the total eclipse in the museum’s IMAX dome theater from 1:30 to 4:15. Discovery Place will provide free eclipse glasses.
