North Carolina Golfer Cards 2 Holes In One In Same Round
As a golfer, I’ve had more than my fair share of luck. Some, shoot most golfers go their whole life and never even smell a hole in one. I’ve had four. Further, I’ve been a witness to thirteen. That being said, I can’t believe the luck of Brian Myers of Statesville. This guy recently had two holes in one in the same round!
WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF MAKING 2 HOLES IN ONE IN THE SAME ROUND?
How rare is this feat? I thought you’d never ask. The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are 12,000 to 1. For a golfer to hoop two in the same round? Draft Kings won’t even give you a bet. The odds go up to an astronomical 67 million to 1. So, to say that 57-year-old Myers is now in special company is an understatement.
THE FIRST OF 2 HOLES IN ONE IN THE SAME ROUND
It all began with a round of golf with Brian Myers’ brother Rusty and a friend on April 14 at Lakewood Golf Club. Towards the end of the front nine, Myers took out his pitching wedge to play the par 3 6th hole. From the senior tees, it measured 125 yards. Myers didn’t just make a hole in one, but dang near jarred it on the fly, leaving a damaged hole. Brian tells The Greensboro News & Record, “I had to call the clubhouse to come out to repair the cup. It was awesome.”
THE SECOND OF 2 HOLES IN ONE IN THE SAME ROUND
Still somewhat stunned from his first ace, Brian Myers and his crew made their way to the par 3 17th hole. From the tee box, the hole was playing 138 yards. No problem. Just a simple nine-iron swing and in seconds Myers had the unthinkable: a second hole in one in the same round.
HOW WAS THE REST OF THE ROUND?
So, the only question golfers have at this point for Brian Myers is, “What did you shoot?” Interestingly enough, he and his posse rarely keep score. That being said, he never had a round like this and estimates it was “around 75.” Oh, and having 2 holes in one in the same round wasn’t the only highlight. Myers also chipped in three times and made three more par putts greater than 25 feet in length.
