New Korean Steakhouse In South Carolina Offers Interactive Cooking Experience
Every time we go on vacation we look for new places to eat and have fun. And, this new Korean Steakhouse South Carolina recently opened offers an interactive cooking experience and certainly delivered on both great food and fun.
On our annual July 4th trip to Myrtle Beach, we happened upon this spot that recently opened this Spring. I have to admit when we popped in we really had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. But, sometimes that’s the best way to experience something new and different.
Our Experience At The New Korean Steakhouse South Carolina
The new Korean Steakhouse South Carolina recently opened that I’m referring to is LAVA Korean Steakhouse next to the Myrtle Beach Mall in an old bank building. But, you’d never know folks used to come here to cash checks!
It’s a very bright and welcoming atmosphere with super comfy seating, I might add. And, each table is equipped with a recessed grill apparatus available for table cooking if you choose. So, of course, that’s what we chose.

There are a variety of options to select on the menu, including various meats, seafood and veggies. You decide on your option depending on how many people are participating and really how much you want to spend and how hungry you might be.
There were just 3 of us. So, we chose a package that was suited for 2-3 at just $69. The meats included short ribs, chicken, pork, beef bulgogi and plenty of veggies. There were onions, asparagus, peppers, etc. It would honestly have fed 4.

Plus, they delivered an array of toppings and sauces, including Gochujang, Kimchi and more. Each guest received rice, too. They even provided butter and fat to cook the items in. And, we had chopsticks, tongs and scissors to assist us.
How It Works At This New Korean Steakhouse South Carolina
At this new Korean Steakhouse in South Carolina, the waiter lit the table top grill and gave us a very brief introduction to cooking our food. Then, we jumped in. It reminded me a bit of fondue, but grilled.
I admit it was a learning curve getting the cooking just right and experimenting with heat adjustment. There’s a knob on the table to adjust that. And, we learned quickly we would need to ask for a knife for cutting our cooked items. I think maybe that was just an oversight from the waitstaff to begin with.
But, they were very accommodating when we needed something. And, the owners/managers were very friendly checking in on us. And, our waiter switched out our grill when it got a bit charred. It was so fun playing around with mixing flavors and sauces. And, I think having one visit under our belt will give us a leg up next time we visit this new Korean Steakhouse South Carolina recently opened. So, we’ll rock it!
Also, we had one of the smoothest, clean and light tasting drinks ever. We ordered a margarita with spicy jalapeno Casamigos. It wasn’t really spicy, but it was super refreshing and easy to sip.

LAVA Korean Steakhouse also offers plenty of options for sushi lovers and kitchen dishes for those who don’t want to cook the food themselves. But, I encourage everyone to try it.
We felt it would especially be a great date night activity! And, they have a really nice outdoor space that would be awesome in cooler weather.
