We Tried Big Chill Island House In Myrtle Beach And Here’s How It Went
We take a trip every year during July 4th week to Myrtle Beach. And, we had a chance to try the new Big Chill Island House. So, I decided to share our experience. Come along and see what we enjoyed.
It was our first day arriving at Myrtle Beach before the July 4th holiday week. We popped into this place we’d been reading about since it opened this spring. And, I’ll tell you, there’s a lot to experience at Big Chill Island House.
Our Trip To Big Chill Island House
Even though it was a bit warm, we chose to be seated outside to enjoy the views from the patio of the intracoastal waterway. The atmosphere is definitely laid back with a relaxing vibe. We kicked back as we stared out at the yachts across the water.
The service was friendly and prompt. The wait staff took our orders for cocktails first since we hadn’t made up our minds about food yet. I like a spicy drink, so I started with the Enfuego Margarita. It’s a house-infused jalapeno tequila, triple sec, house made sour mix and a tajin rim. It was so refreshing and delicious.
The hubby ordered the ‘In Fashion.’ It’s a small batch bourbon, grand marnier, black walnut bitter, orange peel and bordeaux cherry. He seemed to enjoy that. And, then I moved on to the Orange Crush with orange vodka, triple sec, orange juice and starry. It was delightful.
And, if you’re familiar with Crooked Hammock, you’ll recognize some of the drinks and atmosphere since they’re owned by the same group, La Vida Hospitality Group. Most notably familiar on the drink menu is the ‘Painkilla.’
The food menu is a collection of fresh, local seafood, classic American dishes and plenty that take inspiration from the islands. It feels like vacation. So, on to the food we had.
What We Ate At Big Chill Island House
Finally, we decided on a bite to eat. We weren’t super hungry, so we chose the Short Rib Bao Buns from the starter menu at Big Chill Island House. They arrived warm and on fluffy steamed buns stuffed with juicy short ribs, jalapenos, onions, peppers and topped with spicy mayo. They were tasty. But, I am looking forward to exploring more of their yummy sounding menu.
Big Chill Island House had so many seating areas both indoors and out. And, there’s a beautiful space on a top level. Plus, near where we sat on the patio there was an outdoor bar. So, give it a try next time you’re at Barefoot Landing in Myrtle Beach.
