Here’s What Happened When We Tried The New Bobby’s Burgers In SouthPark
One of my all-time favorite Food Network chefs is Bobby Flay. So, we couldn’t wait to visit his new place in Charlotte. Well, here’s what happened when we tried the new Bobby’s Burgers in SouthPark. It was very interesting to say the least.
Arriving At Bobby’s Burgers In SouthPark And What Happened
Bobby’s Burgers occupies a grand space across from SouthPark Mall on Fairview Rd. in Charlotte. There was plenty of signage by the road hailing ‘we are open.’ We arrived for an early dinner Saturday around 5, and followed the directions to the free parking garage where a sign welcomed Bobby’s Burgers guests. All things were hopping right along.
We meandered up the long sidewalk to the front door near outdoor seating that was almost full with diners. But, we were stopped short and told the restaurant was closed for inside dining and that they were only taking to go orders or outside dining. We were puzzled, but we took a seat along with the others.
Then, group after group came up the sidewalk hoping to try the new restaurant. They were all greeted with the same message. But, why? We didn’t yet know. The staff was friendly, but a bit frazzled. We were given a paper menu. And, the waiter took our order.
It was a tough decision since everything looked delicious. I wanted to make sure we tried a ‘crunchified’ burger since that is one of the chef’s signature tricks. It’s simply adding potato chips to the burger, in case you didn’t know. LOL. But, the others sounded delicious, too.
What We Ordered At Bobby’s Burgers In SouthPark
The hubby finally decided on the Bacon Crunchburger with bacon, American Cheese, potato chips and Bobby’s Sauce. He also ordered fries. I chose the Nacho Burger with queso, pickled jalapenos, blue corn tortilla chips and tomato chipotle salsa. And, I had to get the buttermilk onion rings.
The menu is nice and concise and pretty much what you want from a burger place. He also offers a brunch burger with an egg, chicken and veggie sandwiches, other sides and shakes.
Our Thoughts On The Food At Bobby’s Burgers In SouthPark
All in all, thankful we were early birds. It paid off! The burgers were thick, juicy and flavorful. The queso on mine was a little like ball park nacho cheese. And, I didn’t notice chipotle in the salsa, although, I really enjoyed my burger. When we return, I plan on trying the BBQ Smokehouse Burger.
But, the star of the meal, in my opinion, was the Buttermilk Onion Rings. OMG. They were so crunchy and flavorful without being greasy at all! And, they were accompanied by a buttermilk garlic ranch for dipping. I would get those again and again.
So, even through some adversity for the early days of a new restaurant, it’s 2 thumbs up from us. We’ll return to Bobby’s Burgers in SouthPark for sure!
