If dining outside is an option, I almost always take it. And, if you're in search of the restaurant with best patio in Charlotte area, readers of The CharlotteFive have spoken with their choice.

According to The Charlotte Observer, their recent CharlotteFive Readers' Choice poll pulled in dozens of nominations in the patio division. Everything was fair game, be it bars, breweries or restaurants.

However, when all the votes were tabulated, one restaurant with best patio in Charlotte area really rose above the others. And, just which one came out on top?

Restaurant With Best Patio In Charlotte Area

Well, voters said the restaurant with best patio in the Charlotte area is The Bottle Tree on Davis St. in Belmont, North Carolina. According to their site, The Bottle Tree features globally inspired brunch and dinner. And, diners are treated to items such as miso glazed cod and Wagyu wontons.

And, in reading more about the spot, The Bottle Tree has my attention with its string lights illuminating outdoor seating and charming cobblestone flooring. Plus, when that cooler fall weather rolls around visitors are warmed by a fireplace and a cozy fire pit as well.

A beautiful large tree provides shade on sunny, warm days. And, there's an outdoor bar, too. Also, this restaurant with best patio in Charlotte area hosts various events including live music, wine dinners and bourbon and cigar pairings.

History Of The Bottle Tree

But, what I found interesting was some of the history of the spot. Apparently, it was once a midcentury ranch home and was where the Belmont mayor once lived. I love learning the origins of places and imagining what this bustling business would have been like as a private home once upon a time.

Although some of my faves didn't make the list, I thought I'd put my two cents in just in case you're looking for options.

Another Choice For Restaurant With Best Patio In Charlotte

A classic spot that most people in the Charlotte area are familiar with is Dilworth Tasting Room. I just recently got around to visiting, and I loved it! Even though they have another location in SouthPark, the one I visited and fell in love with is the one at 300 E Tremont Ave in Charlotte.

If you're looking for an extensive wine list, cocktails and small plates in a quaint and cozy setting, Dilworth Tasting Room is the ticket. In fact, the spot was awarded 2024 'Best of the Best' in Charlotte awards for its wine list.

Dilworth Tasting Room has a few seats out front on the sidewalk, more indoor tables and a beautiful courtyard type setting out back. And, the food was incredible. We really enjoyed the Meat Trio Flatbread with prosciutto, chorizo and meatball with a chipotle honey drizzle.

And, they have great featured special nights throughout the week, including Wine Flight Night on Tuesdays and Thursdays with complimentary cheese plates with purchase. Great vibes, great spot!

Three North Carolina Patios Included On Open Table’s Best Outdoor Dining List

Summer is here, and is there anything better than enjoying a delicious meal, a refreshing cocktail or glass of wine, and the warm summer air and a nice breeze? The answer is no. There is not. If you disagree, you can stop reading this isn't the information for you. Now that I have reached my target audience, I'll elaborate. The dining experts at OpenTable have compiled a list of the best outdoor dining in the country. And with 50 states, countless cities, and limitless restaurants there is a lot of stiff competition. But the good news is that three different North Carolina restaurants made the list of best outdoor dining.

Open Table Best Outdoor Dining

According to OpenTable this list "spans restaurants coast-to-coast and is determined by verified diner reviews." And I can verify it's literally coast to coast because I saw one restaurant in Hawaii. And while I've never been to Hawaii, I'm pretty sure any outdoor dining there is superior. You'd probably assume the North Carolina restaurants included on this outdoor dining list are all at the coast. Right? Wrong. One is, and it's actually one some family members told me about recently. The other two are, unexpectedly, in Greensboro. I've seen several Triad restaurants on these sorts of lists lately. I don't typically give the area much credit (I've lived in Charlotte and Raleigh) but may have to go explore one weekend.

Not only was North Carolina included on the list. The Palmetto State of course was too. Two South Carolina restaurants were recognized for their outdoor dining. One again on the beach, and the other in a trendy, growing city. Time to plan some road trips because there is nothing more I want this summer than some incredible food, an Aperol spritz, and a patio. Preferably with a water view. Keep reading to learn all about the North and South Carolina restaurants included on Open Table's list of the best outdoor dining. Want to see the full list? Get all the info here.
