This Iconic ‘The Voice’ Moment When A Coach Told Blake Shelton, “I’d Kick Your Ass!”
The Voice has been looking back across the first 25 seasons of the show. In preparation for season 26, they shared a sweet look back at the “frenemy” friendship between the two famous coaches in 2019 and highlighted a particularly heated exchange from one of the show’s early seasons. There was an iconic Voice moment when a coach told Blake Shelton, “I’d Kick Your Ass!”
How It Went Down
Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, and both stars were first-season coaches. When Shelton interrupted Adam Levine’s passionate speech, the two men clashed while trying to recruit a participant. “I may not be your first choice as someone to work with, you know, you’re clearly… ” Levine said before getting cut off by Shelton. “Of course not,” Shelton said, suggesting Levine couldn’t get the candidate to join Team Adam. “Man, if you weren’t 6’5, I’d kick your ass!” Adam fired back calmly with a smile.
They Are Close Friends
NBC says that Levine never made good on that promise, seeing as how Shelton never shrunk in size — and because the two former Coaches actually have had a very close friendship behind the scenes for years!
What Is New For This Season
