North Carolina Chick-fil-A Ruffles Feathers With New Policy Regarding Teens

There's no argument in many folks' minds that if you want to get some of the best chicken and unmatched customer service, you go to Chick-fil-A. But now, a North Carolina Chick-fil-A requiring adult supervision for teens is ruffling some feathers.
Chick-fil-A Requiring Adult Supervision For Teens
According to WSOC TV, a Belmont, North Carolina Chick-fil-A recently posted a sign on the door referencing that patrons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult to dine in during certain hours. Those include 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Apparently, the Belmont location of Chick-fil-A is right across from South Point High School. And, the spot has become a pickup point for many students who wait there for long periods of time for parents' arrival. This is prompting other neighboring businesses to consider policies similar to those posted by Chick-fil-A.
Reasons Behind Chick-Fil-A Requiring Adult Supervision For Teens
Some of the business owners in the area refer to the situation as a type of 'daycare' for teens. There have even been reports of vandalism in bathrooms, fights and other inappropriate behavior. That's bound to happen when that many teens are gathered for long periods of time with nothing to do and no supervision. And, it shouldn't be the responsibility of the business owners to manage an after school program.
Of course, this doesn't apply to all the teens. Certainly, many of them are well behaved and causing no troubles. But, we all remember being kids and how there's a few bad apples that spoil things for the bunch. And, I definitely feel for the businesses trying to make sure the situation doesn't get out of hand or keep other customers away.
It's shame though that someone who's 15, 16 or even 17 can't pop into Chick-fil-A after school for a snack on the way home. And, how are the businesses going to enforce this? Ask for I.D. from everyone who looks young? It's very difficult to discern a 16 year old from an 18 year old sometimes. Will kids start showing fakes to get some nuggets? LOL.
I remember when my son got his drivers' license and started taking himself to and from school, he would swing by our local Chick-fil-A and grab breakfast on the way in the morning. But, I totally get the frustration on their part and the need for this particular Chick-fil-A requiring adult supervision for teens.
