We have known about this delicacy in the Carolinas for years. Now it looks like the rest of the nation has caught on too. A Carolina-born favorite is heading to McDonald's.

When Will It Happen

McDonald’s plans to have Krispy Kreme products in 1,000 locations by the end of the year and in 85% of their restaurants by the end of 2026. The Krispy Kreme/McDonald’s collaboration will have doughnuts in locations nationwide, starting with a rollout in Chicago this fall.

Krispy Kreme CEO Speaks

AJC is reporting all about the move to McDonald's “They just need to be taken from the tray, put in the bag or even six-count and handed to the customer,” Krispy Kreme President and CEO Josh Charlesworth said. “So, the real focus is just great doughnuts.”

What Will Be Available

Three doughnut flavors will be delivered every day: Original Glazed, Iced with Sprinkles, and Chocolate Iced Kreme Filled. I love the Original, the problem is that most can't stop at one. A dozen should do the trick! McDonald's won't be able to put the Hot, Fresh, Just baked doughnut sign in the window. However for me, a quick ten seconds in the microwave and they are ready again.
