World’s Oldest Man Reveals Secret To Longevity
The world’s oldest man has revealed his secret to staying alive for so long.
He’s Seen A Lot Of History
England resident John Alfred Tinniswood is celebrating his 112th birthday on Monday. To put that into perspective, Tinniswood was born in 1912 – the same year the Titanic sunk and Arizona became a U.S. state.
The Oldest Humans
WBALTV says, Tinniswood is also four years away from being the oldest man ever, a title held by Japan’s Jiroemon Kimura, who lived for 116 years between 1897 and 2013. The oldest person ever, Jeanne Calment from France, lived for 122 years between 1875 and 1997.
The Secret
His secret to making it to the ripe old age of 112? “Luck,” Tinniswood says – and maybe a little walking. “I can’t think of any special secrets I have,” he adds. “I was quite active as a youngster; I did a lot of walking.” In fact, Tinniswood says he feels the same as he did 20 years ago. “To me, I’m no different,” he says. “No different at all. I don’t feel that age, I don’t get excited over it. That’s probably why I’ve reached it. I just take it in stride like anything else.”
