Everyone is ok. But a North Carolina family terrified after a children’s book caught fire under a car seat. Thank God the little girl wasn’t in the car seat at the time. Firefighters and investigators in Burke County think a lithium battery in the book got too hot. That heat caused the flame that destroyed the child’s car seat.

The child’s mother Destiny Williams tells Channel 9 in Charlotte, “This is crazy but thank God for protecting her”. Fire Chief Bobby Craig gave this comment to the television station; our source for this story. “The world itself is moving to lithium batteries, which propose some of these troubles to the fire service, I don’t know if there is — other than trying to keep them cool — that there is any precautions.”
The North Carolina Family Is Thankful To Be Safe
The terrifying incident happened on Sunday after church. Destiny and her daughter Misty were inside the home for about 20 minutes when a neighbor saw the smoke. Someone grabbed a garden hose to put the fire out. And Destiny’s husband rushed home from work. Firefighters estimate thousands of dollars in damages were done to the interior of the minivan as a result of the fire.
The family says there is no warning on the book alerting to the possibility of this happening. The company that makes the book released this statement regarding the incident.
