“Yellowstone” Creator Taylor Sheridan Purchases Sprawling 179-Acre Wyoming Ranch For $4.95M
“Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan has reportedly purchased a 179-acre ranch in Wyoming for $4.95 million.
The New Ranch
The property, known as Papa’s Creek Ranch, offers two trout streams and space for waterfowl hunting. Sheridan, with an estimated net worth of $70 million, also owns ranch properties in Texas and charges Paramount for filming on his land. Additionally, he asks the network for $210K to train actors at a ‘Cowboy Camp’ held on his own property and rents herds of cattle out for $25 a head.
What Happens At Cowboy Camp
At the ‘Cowboy Camps’, actors are taught how to work with horses and realistically depict ranch life. The Wall Street Journal reported Paramount was charged $214,979.61 for the camp leading into season five, which lasted around a week. About $33,000 of that was just for catering. Use of his horses was also costly; Paramount was charged $2,000 a head.
The Daily Mail says last year, a report from the Wall Street Journal revealed that the star charges Paramount as high as $50,000 a week to film Yellowstone on his own ranch in Texas. Currently, negotiations are underway for a sixth season of “Yellowstone,” focusing on characters Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler.
