City leaders say this will serve a couple of purposes, it will support a “healthy tree canopy” and will help homeowners save money when that energy bill comes in. According to Channel 9 this is a first in our area. Concord is the first municipality in the Tar Heel State to join the “Energy-Saving Trees” program.
Here’s How You Can Get Your Free Tree
Here’s how you can reserve your tree if you are a homeowner in the required area. And it is first come first serve. You can pick up your tree on October 19 at the All Saint’s Episcopal Church. While you are there you can get tips on how to plant and care for your free tree.
Not only is this North Carolina town offering free trees but you will be able to choose a species that you like. Your choices are Bald Cypress Trees, Willow Oaks, Tulip Poplar and more.
