Tim McGraw: The Last Thing He Does Before He Hits The Stage
Tim McGraw works hard to stay in shape, even when he’s on the road. He is arguably one of the fittest guys in country music, with a workout routine on the road consisting of three multi-hour sessions per day before he takes the stage that night.
Part of what makes Tim’s workouts on the road possible is the mobile gym he travels with, which we asked him to tell us about.
McGraw told us, “Well, there’s a lot of equipment in there for sure. You know, it’s just your standard weights and punching bags and all that kind of stuff. We also have like an infrared sauna in there, which is good for muscle cover.”
He added, “And I have an ice bath in there, which is the last thing I do at the end of the day before I get ready for the show.”

Tim is a lucky guy and he knows it. It’s been over thirty years since he has had to do a nine-to-five job just to make ends meet. McGraw looked back at some of his former jobs. He told us, “I’ve had a lot of side jobs, a lot of construction work. I did the old calling bank thing. I did that quite a bit. Gosh, I worked at restaurants. I worked as a line cook during my time. I roofed a lot.”
Tim added with a grin, “Growing up in Louisiana I roofed a lot. When you’re having dinner or something, and somebody comes up for an autograph, and they always say, ‘Well, I bet you’re tired of doing this,’ or ‘I bet you hate doing this,’ or ‘This gets old.’ And I’m like, ‘Look, it’s better than roofing.’ That’s usually my comeback.”
Back to music, the country superstar currently has a new song out with Post Malone on Malone’s F1-Trillion album. The song is called “Wrong Ones.”
McGraw is climbing the country charts with yet another hit song. This one is from his latest album, Standing Roon Only, and is called “One Bad Habit.”
Tim said in a recent interview about “One Bad Habit”: “I just loved the lyric right off the bat. Then when we got into the studio, we tore it all apart and put it back together, it came out fantastic.”
