Chad McQueen, who played Dutch in the Karate Kid movie, has died.

His Very Famous Father

According to his attorney, Arthur Barens, McQueen passed away from organ failure at his California ranch on Wednesday.  The only son of actor Steve McQueen, Chad reprised his role as Dutch in Karate Kid II and also appeared in the 1993 film Firepower.

He Loved Racing

When he wasn't acting, Chad was an avid racer, competing in the Baja 1000 and Motocross.  At age 12, Chad won the World Mini Grand Prix.  According to sources, Chad suffered an injury years ago, and that led to progressive organ failure. His children, attorney, and life partner were with him at the time of his death.

The Statement From Chad's Family

His wife Jeanie and his children Chase and Madison said in a statement to Variety, “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our father, Chad McQueen. His remarkable journey as a loving father to us, along with his unwavering commitment to our mother, truly exemplified a life filled with love and dedication,” reads the statement. “His passion for racing not only highlighted his exceptional talent but also served as a way to honor his father’s legacy, a testament to the values instilled in him.”
