That’s Not a Cigarette on Brantley Gilbert’s New Album Cover
Brantley Gilbert released “Tattoos,” his seventh studio album, on September 13. Gilbert is covered in tattoos, and the album cover shows him shirtless and revealing his upper body tattoos.
So What Is The Controversy
It appears the “Over When We’re Sober” singer is smoking a cigarette on the cover; however, Gilbert recently said that it wasn’t a cigarette he was smoking. “That was a long day,” he says, “and it got to the point where, you know, I hadn’t drank in 13 years … but, uh, I’m a Willie Nelson fan.”
It’s A Brantley Break
Nelson is undoubtedly the most famous cannabis smoker, and the tatted country musician has admitted to using marijuana. “It got to the point where ol’ boy just needed to burn one,” Gilbert says of himself. “It was a little joint — a jeeter.”
Taste of Country said Brantley thinks they probably did some photo doctoring post-shoot, though: “I think they did their best to make it look like a cigarette, but yeah, I just took a little smoke break,” he admits. “You can’t really tell what it is. You can tell I’m smokin’ somethin’.”
