Are You Right Brained Or Left Brained?
Have you ever questioned if you’re right-brained or left-brained? If you have, you’re definitely not the only one. According to GoodNet, for years many people have been thinking that the left brain is logic and the right is creativity. However, this might not be as true as many people think it is.
The theory that the right and left brain are separate sections with opposite functions comes from the 1980s. Modern research has found a more complicated relationship in the brain. Neuroscientists have in fact found that different regions of the brain have different tasks. For example, the right side controls movement on the left side of the body and the left side controls movement on the right side of the body. The front of the brain has a link to things like mood and creativity, the back of the brain processes things like sensory and visual input.
Even though researchers have found that different parts of the brain have different functions, there’s no link that has been found currently that proves that one side of the brain is associated with certain traits and the other side the opposite traits.
Even though neuroscience says that you aren’t technically right or left brained that doesn’t mean you can’t identify that way still. It is important for people to think about and learn their own strengths and weaknesses, which trying to figure out if you’re “right or left brained” helps people to do.
