Very sad news out of the Darius Rucker camp. A long time crew member and friend has passed away.

Darius Is Devastated

Darius Rucker announced the passing of his longtime crew member, Jason 'Devil Boy' Parkin, on social media.  Parkin, who had been with Rucker's crew for nearly 25 years, was described as a beloved brother and production manager. He had worked with Rucker during his Hootie and the Blowfish days.

Condolences Pour In

Taste of Country says fans and followers offered their condolences and shared heartfelt messages of remembrance for Parkin.  "For nearly 25 years, Jason 'Devil Boy' Parkin was a staple in our crew. He was more than our production manager, he was our brother," Rucker writes in a statement. "We are devastated by his passing this week. Our prayers are with his family — thank you for loaning him to us all these years."

He began working for Rucker and Hootie & the Blowfish in 1998 and was just two months shy of his 27th anniversary in the position at the time of his death.
